Annual Fund Drive Encourages Employees to be “IN” for Student Success

WINTERVILLE—The Pitt Community College Foundation’s 2019-20 Employee Annual Fund Drive kicks off today with a Fair Share Luncheon for faculty and staff who have pledged to contribute at least one percent of their annual salary to the charitable organization during the current academic year.

Highlighted by the tagline “#ImINforStudentSuccess,” PCC Foundation staff are leading the drive along with a committee comprised of representatives from each area of the college. Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs Lori Preast and Public Services & Fine Arts Dean Dan Mayo are serving as the committee’s co-chairs.

Preast says this year’s drive has two ambitious objectives: a $104,000-fundraising goal and 75 percent employee participation.

“As the campaign kicks off this week, we ask that everyone give something,” Preast said. “And those who are able, please give generously, because every dollar makes a difference.”

Mayo said a breakfast event set for Friday morning will provide employees with an excellent opportunity to make pledges to the PCC Foundation and demonstrate they are truly ‘in for student success.’

“As PCC employees, we all want to see our students complete their educational goals and achieve their dreams,” Mayo said. “The Employee Annual Drive represents a chance for us to take that all-important extra step beyond just saying or thinking that; it’s where the rubber meets the road, so to speak.”

Throughout the drive, PCC Media Relations will post photos on social media of faculty and staff who have committed themselves to student success through financial support of the PCC Foundation.

For Preast and Mayo, that leaves just one question for their fellow employees: “Are you IN for student success?”
