GREENVILLE—Through a silent auction and its first-ever pickleball tournament, the Pitt Community College Foundation raised $7,642 this spring to support PCC’s educational mission.

Held April 25 at the Greenville Pickleball Club, the Foundation’s inaugural pickleball tournament attracted 48 participants competing across three levels of play. An online silent auction conducted April 24-25 complemented the event with donated items from local businesses and community supporters.

“Our pickleball tournament was a delightful success, bringing together supporters, players, sponsors and volunteers for a fun and meaningful event that directly benefits PCC students,” said PCC Foundation Executive Director Beth Sigmon. “Thank you to everyone who participated, sponsored, donated, volunteered and helped make the event possible.”

PCC Special Events Coordinator Jennifer Hemink said sponsors included Grady-White Boats, The Mosquito Authority, Brown & Wood, ECU Health, Minges Bottling Company, Invest Greenville, Visit Greenville NC, and Lori and Dwayne Preast.

Proceeds from the event will fund scholarships and other educational opportunities for PCC students.
